WISC student helps organise conference on AI and cities

WISC student Konstantin organised a conference track on “AI & Cities” for the Applied Machine Learning Days, which took place at EPFL Lausanne at the end of January.  The track kicked off with a panel discussion on sustainable AI implementations in the urban space, featuring Alex “Sandy” Pentland (MIT Media Lab), Stephen Goldsmith (Harvard Kennedy School) and Valentine Goddard (AI Impact Alliance).  The discussion was followed by a series of spotlight talks from researchers and experts working on urban AI applications.  The highlighted case-studies came a diverse group of organisations, including EPFL Lausanne, ETH Zurich, Google DeepMind and Swisscom.
